The second personal album of Afentoula Razeli, Ksypniste chares mou (My joys wake up!), after Sti fotia na rixneis meli (Throw honey in the fire), in 2000, is a musical surprise. On the occasion of some unrecorded songs that had been long included in her performances, in musical scenes of Athens, a music recording “adventure” started, beginning from the Balkans and reaching up to Argentina.
The song cycle gives accent in the harmonization of disparate, yet deeply familiar elements, timbres and sounds. Images of a Parisian jazz club meet sounds of the Balkans (Dasho Kurti), Armenia (Kora Michaelian), Argentina (Astor Piazzola) and Brazil (Demetrio and Antenor Bogéa), having as common place the Greek utterance of poets and songwriters of exquisite quality (Elias Katsoulis, Dionyssis Karatzas, Adri Stefopoulos, Odysseas Ioannou and others).
With the contribution of exceptional Greek musicians, the instrumentation of Kostas Parissis spotlights peculiar sounds and unifies with imagination and sensitivity, elements from various corners of world, in musical reason that constitutes a really contemporary artistic proposal.
